As an Engineering Manager, you will be guiding, coaching, and leading a technical team. You will be responsible for nurturing your team by supporting the growth of engineers on the team and by establishing strong engineering practices. We would rely on you to help your team to answer the "how do we solve this problem". You like spending your time leading a team, relying on their technical input, and watching them produce code and products that are greater than the sum of their parts.

What Success Looks Like:
Getting ramped up.
The first 30 days will be spent building rapport, getting ramped on our product and rituals, including our release management and sprint process. Our expectation is that by the end of your initial month, you are driving standup meetings, meeting 1:1 with direct reports, and have built a good understanding of our organization, departmental interdependencies, and hierarchies.
This also means appropriate documentation, testing, and running a launch meeting for at least 1 deployment.
Commitment to sprint excellence.
By day 60, our sprint estimations should be accurate within a ~30% margin. This means coaching our technical team on best practices, leveling up on estimation, and facilitating cross-departmental collaboration.
Organizational Design and Planning.
Beyond the first couple of months, we’re hoping you can begin to inform meaningful change as it relates to appropriate career laddering, professional development opportunities for engineering, performance management processes, and the like.
Measure What Matters.
Going into your third month, we’re hoping for an audit of our current tech stack and reporting capabilities. Ideally, you’d put forth some recommendations on how we can upgrade existing tools, implement new technology , reorient the team around new priority metrics, and ultimately drive towards creating a greater evidence-based technical culture.
